ESP (extended service plan)
WHAT A JOKE !!!!!!!!!
I purchased 2 platium/ diamond rings approx. 4 years ago and recently brought the rings in for some minor repairs, well two months later I just received my rings back and they look worse then when I brought them in for the original repairs. After expressing my disappointment with the way the rings looked (like out of a gum ball machine) I was told that this was the best that they could do. My diamonds are all crooked, the bottom of the band is so thin that I cannot wear it as it cuts into my finger, my other ring is just as bad, one side round the other side flat.
The ESP warranty is worthless and the customer service is worse. I would be nice if someone in this company cared as much now as during the selling process. Oh and lets not forget that the sales person who really pushed the extended warranty stating that if anything were to happen to the rings, and they could not be repaired they would be replaced,
WHAT A BUNCH OF BULL S...!
A piece of advise for anyone thinking about making a major purchase at Jareds, DONT!

Do not shop here! I purchased a nice men's bracelet for $150. Description: Stainless Steel & 14K Yellow Gold. The bracelet was well taken care of and only worn occasionally. On several of the links the gold plating started to peel up. I brought the bracelet back to the store, the store needed to send it to their home office. After 4 weeks they responded that they couldn't do anything and told me to pick the bracelet up. I called the customer affairs group to escalate further and they said they couldn't do anything as it's not under warranty. The store manager recommended I take it to a jewelry smith and MAYBE they could fix it! They wouldn't extend a store credit or any type of replacement to me. The bracelet is clearly faulty yet they still sell it on their website. (http://www.jared.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product1%7C10451%7C10001%7C-1%7C720942604%7C19068%7C19064.19797.19875.20037) I'm sure I am not the first customer to complain about this bracelet. The reason I purchased from Jared was I thought they had a good reputation. Not only is their product defect but their service is as well! I spent $150 on a bracelet that looks horrible now at a store that doesn't respect their products or their customers! This experience has been shocking and disappointing. It's also embarrassing to give a gift to a loved one that you think is good quality for a special occasion and then they show you that its falling apart.

Typically, jewelers should know much more then just the infamous "4Cs", but most employees at Jared are not even familiar with what Ideal-scope/Aset-scope images are (images used by labs to detect how well the diamond will perform) nor did they know much about well-proportioned pavilion/crown angles on a diamond. With just a few hours of research anyone would be able to exceed the knowledge of most people working there.

Do not special order from Jareds. I have been left in a situation of not having a special pair of earrings for my first anniversary because the Jardes location did not call me to tell of a problem getting the earrings. I have had to call to find out about this problem. Stay away from Jareds if you need good customer service.
